Cama Group has recently welcomed Mr. Mohammed Khalid Alakeel – Chief Executive Officer at Deemah – United Food Industries Corporation, one of Saudi Arabia’s largest manufacturers of biscuits, confectionery, and snacks.
During headquarters’ visit there was the chance to showcase the on-going technological packaging line developed to meet high standards clients’ needs and to deepen technical features about tailor-made unit designed for bakery industry. Deemah at a glance – can you provide a Company overview? What are your key strengths in MENA and worldwide markets?
Deemah is a Saudi trendsetter Company for bakery and confectionery industries with long-standing experience in developing innovative products such as biscuits, cakes, snacks and candies.
Established in 1984, Deemah has now more than 1000 employees, with far beyond 250 Stock Keeping Units and with presence both locally in MENA market and other 70 countries all around the world.

From Cama side, we are glad to have developed a solid collaboration with such an innovative and well-known Company like Deemah, visit to Italy headquarters proved to be a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the partnership with such a cutting-edge client that provides a valuable contribution towards 2030 worldwide market goals with a view on Saudi economic enhancement.
It turned out to be a great chance to show Italian excellence of Industry 5.0 and provide a technical overview on Cama automated production lines in full operation. Mr. Alakeel goes on: “We are sure we will keep strengthening our technological collaboration with Cama Group to help us delivering innovative products together.
Can you provide further details about the line you are developing with Cama now? What are the key features of the machine?
Cama Group is now developing a technological and complex bakery packaging line with a focus on biscuits. In this line cookies are processed in flow packs with 2 or 3 items each pack, then sold in a box containing 3 packs, for both formats.
Maximum speed reached for this machine is 60 boxes/minute, making the line extremely efficient and technologically advanced.
Another key feature is the presence of a Delta robot to create a configuration of 3 flow packs and deposit them on a conveyor for insertion into the box. Moreover, there is a dedicated system to check box functionalities, with 3 flow packs per box.
Mr. Alakeel confirms: “We are extremely proud of the line we are designing with Cama Technical Dept., this line proves to be an example of Industry 5.0 enhancement, with several technological features that will make packaging process smarter, leaner and smoother.”
Saudi enhancement – We are aware MENA market has been boosting its potential in recent times: what are your growth forecasts for upcoming years up to 2030 packaging opportunities?
“Saudi Arabia stands at a pivotal time – Mr. Alakeel declares – the Kingdom is delivering on its promise of transformation – empowering its people, reshaping its economic landscape, and unlocking new opportunities. The past year has made concrete progress across economic, social, and institutional fronts confirming the strength of the Kingdom’s strategic direction and the commitment driving it.”
