CAMA Group Showcases Advanced Robotic Technologies at CFIA Rennes 2026
Cama Group, a global leader in packaging automation solutions, is proud to announce its participation at the upcoming CFIA, taking place from March 10th to 12th, 2026 at the Parc des Expositions de Rennes. At this premier event for the food processing and packaging industry, CAMA will present its latest innovations in robotics and smart automation designed to elevate packaging performance, flexibility, and sustainability.
At the heart of CAMA’s presence at CFIA Rennes is the Machine Enhancement Programme (MEP), a strategic approach aimed at extending the lifecycle and boosting the efficiency of existing packaging lines. With increasing demands on productivity, safety, and ergonomics, MEP supports manufacturers in upgrading their machinery to meet today’s evolving requirements without the need for costly full-scale replacements. CAMA’s tailored interventions focus on incorporating advanced robotics and smart technologies to transform traditional packaging operations into future-ready systems.
A major highlight at CAMA’s stand will be the debut of the Automatic Carton Loading (ACL) system, a cutting-edge solution that redefines one of the most labor-intensive tasks on packaging lines: the loading of carton blanks into machine magazines. Despite high levels of automation across the sector, tasks such as carton loading remain largely manual, exposing manufacturers to challenges related to operator fatigue, safety risks, inconsistent performance, and slow throughput.

The ACL system addresses these pain points with a collaborative 3-axis robot equipped with intelligent vision systems, advanced control software, and a suite of interchangeable, product-specific grippers. This robust solution autonomously detects pallet patterns, orientation, carton stacks, and interlayer materials — compensating for the inherent variability found in delivered cartons due to transport, storage conditions, and material characteristics. The result is reliable, high-speed loading that enhances uptime and line consistency.
Fully integrated with CAMA packaging machines, the ACL solution fits seamlessly within existing production layouts, communicating with upstream and downstream systems — including autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) — to support connected, Industry 4.0–ready operations. Designed for collaborative environments, ACL works safely alongside human operators in compliance with current regulations, minimizing maintenance through its fully electronic architecture and enabling remote monitoring and analytics integration to drive data-informed decision-making.
CAMA’s approach to robotics and smart vision extends beyond automation hardware. By combining collaborative robots with sensor-equipped grippers and 2D/3D or AI-based vision technologies, manual tasks that were once repetitive and low value-added can now be automated with precision and adaptability — freeing operators to focus on higher-skilled activities while significantly increasing throughput and operational efficiency.
“As we continue to see variability in packaging formats and materials, flexibility becomes essential”, said Laurent Etienne Cuneaz, Sales Manager France at Cama Group. “Our ACL system is a testament to how robotics and vision can be integrated to tackle variability at its source — delivering consistent performance, enhanced safety, and measurable productivity gains”.
Visitors to CFIA Rennes 2026 are invited to explore CAMA’s latest technologies and discuss tailored solutions with the CAMA team at Stand 10 – F74, Hall 10B. Discover how CAMA’s innovative robotics and machine enhancement offerings can help transform your packaging operations for today — and tomorrow.
